Then you have GOT to head over to Sonic and grab yourself a Limeade. Not only are they extremely thirst quenching, but starting August 29th (that’s Monday!) you can use the extra codes you get on your Sonic purchase to vote for our class to get two 4th generation iPod touches!!!!! Not thirsty? That’s okay…you can vote once every day PER EMAIL ADDRESS: your work email, your home email, etc. So put us on your to-do list everyday! (AND, don’t forget to spread the word to your friends, neighbors, co-workers and relatives!)

Remember, you sip, we learn! Happy sipping!
Yea! We’ve almost made it through our first week of school, and it has been a fantastic week so far! Tomorrow is our first Friday and along with that will come the first football game and pep rally. If you choose to take your child to the pep rally, here are some guidelines to remember:
*All students must have written permission from their parent or guardian each week to attend each pep-rally.
*Teachers will keep the parent notes and then send students to the cafeteria.
*Students with a note will be dismissed to the cafeteria at 2:40 on Fridays.
*2nd grade classroom teachers will notify the peripheral teachers of those students that will need to be dismissed early.
*Parents must enter through the Intermediate school entrance, sign out and pick your child up in the cafeteria
*Parents will not be sent down the hallway to pick up students from classes.
*Due to our dismissal time, it is not possible for Primary students to go to pep rallies as a group.
We have had an excellent 2 days of 2nd grade! So far, our favorite activity is… PE, reading, writing, dancing to Mrs. Richeson’s movement videos, lunch, everything… well, it depends who you ask. The point is we are enjoying learning together and becoming a classroom community.
Today 2 notes are coming home in your child’s folder. One is a request that you tell me in about a million words or less everything I need to know and love about your child. The other is a permission slip for your child’s picture and/or 1st name to appear on our blog page. It is also a permission slip for your child’s name and addresses to go home when needed for birthday invitations. Please return as soon as possible as we have birthdays coming up.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Richeson
Last Thursday, May 5th, was our class’ turn to present the CHAMPs assembly and teach the school about a character trait. Our play was a reader’s theatre of the book “Make a Trade, Charlie Brown!” teaching the school about loyalty.
Thanks to Olivia’s Flat Stanley’s visit to a Texas Rangers game, our whole class had just received matching Texas Rangers shirts. (Thanks, Uncle Jarrett!) Since they went perfectly for the baseball theme of our play, we all wore them during our assembly. Great timing on Olivia’s Flat Stanley’s return to our classroom!
