Due to popular demand, I am posting the directions for the cloud experiment we did in class today.  Students, remember, do not try this without and adult’s help!

1.) Fill a plastic clear 2 liter bottle 2/3 full of warm water and place the cap on.

2.) Squeeze and release the bottle several times.  This represents the warming and cooling process that occurs in the atmosphere.

3.) Take the cap off the bottle.  Carefully light a match and hold it near the opening of the bottle.  Drop the match inside and quickly put on the cap.

4.) Once again slowly squeeze the bottle hard and release.  A cloud appears when you release and disappears when you squeeze.
