We did it!  I received an email today that Sonic is funding our project to use mp3 players in the classroom!  I am so exicted for the students that they will be able to use these.  They will use them to listen to reading which will not only model what fluent reading sounds like but will also motivate them to become better readers themselves.  They will also use them to view the podcasts we make this year.  In this way, they will all become each others’ audience in a digital way.  (Don’t worry…we’ll be posting those podcasts to our class page as soon we we make them so you can view them, too!)
